Taobao and Tmall are the two main Chinese eCommerce platforms from the giant Alibaba. They are basically the equivalent of respectively eBay and Amazon in China. You can access both platforms with the same login/pwd and the main difference is that only registered shops can sell on Tmall while non registered shops can sell on Taobao. That means that you are more likely to find fake products on Taobao than on Tmall. Don’t get me wrong, not everything on Tmall is authentic and not everything on Taobao is fake. If it looks too cheap to be authentic, chances are that it is. Try to read the reviews before buying to get an idea.
Both platforms are in Chinese but if you are used to Amazon, with the help of some translator, you should quickly figure out how to use them.
You can virtually find anything on these sites and you will find yourself ordering most things on these websites. Needless to say that they also both have their own mobile app.
The shipping time depends on each seller but it is usually very fast and with many shops you can expect your order to arrive within 24 or 48 hours.
Note that Amazon is also available in China but has less products that you would expect and certainly less than Taobao/Tmall. Amazon.cn is in English though…
